Charles R. Fike, 84, of South Williamsport passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport. Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Linda G. (Rinker) Fike.
Born November 6, 1939 in Williamsport he was a son of the late Paul Fike Sr. and Evelyn (Kulp) Miles, and step son of Martin Miles.
Charlie graduated from Williamsport High School in 1958. He worked at Lonza for 34 years until retiring. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #214, where he served on the board, the Zafar Grotto, a life member of the Republican League, and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Charlie was a gentle man who cared for those around him. He was active in his community often volunteering, sharing a legacy of warmth and friendship. His passion for life was matched only by his love for hunting and the thrill of casting lines into the deep waters of the Outer Banks or along the tranquil banks of the Susquehanna River. For many years, he and Linda enjoyed camping at Riverside in Montgomery. A dedicated football fan, he could often be found cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles or the Penn State Nittany Lions. Above all else, Charlie loved his family and any time spent with them.
Surviving are his daughters, Diane M. Quigley (Robert) of Pennsdale, Colleen L. Tubbs of Williamsport, Alison G. Jean (Dan) of South Williamsport, and Kimberly S. Smith (Darren) of Trout Run; grandchildren, Amanda, Derrek, William, Zachary, Delaney, and Dylan; 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a brother, Jay Fike (Norma) of Williamsport.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Smith; and four brothers, Paul Fike, Jr., Ronald Fike, David Fike, and Martin Miles.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, December 14 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy will be held at the convenience of the family.
