Cecile Medine Weigle, a vibrant and spirited soul, passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2023, at the age of 39 in Williamsport, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Born on November 15th, 1984, in Denver, CO to Gene E. Weigle and Jacqueline S. Stroehmann, Cecile's enthusiasm for life and her creative spark illuminated the lives of all who knew her.
Cecile was a joyful child who loved dressing up and playfully interacting with those around her. From her early years and throughout her life, she was a quiet but powerful force of strength and support to those around her. Her educational journey began at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA and cumulated in a BS degree in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. Cecile's wide range of talents and abilities along with a variety of work experiences eventually landed her in a career in marketing and event planning in the Denver area.
Throughout her life, Cecile's adventurous spirit was evident in everything she did. Whether she was deep sea fishing, skiing down the slopes, or embarking on her next travel adventure, she embraced the world with open arms. She had a flair for fashion and the big city life as well as a great love for the Colorado outdoors -- with camping, hiking, and skiing being among her favorite pastimes. Cecile was also enthusiastic about fitness and health. She loved the simple pleasure of dining out at fine restaurants with those she loved.
Cecile will be best remembered for her zeal for life, her bold and beautiful laugh, and her deep love for people. Her strength, resilience, and bravery emerged and carried her through some difficult times at the end of her life. During those difficult times, the love of her family and friends surrounded her to the very end. She left this life knowing she was deeply loved, and she now rests in eternal love in the arms of the Lord.
Left to honor Cecile and remember her love are her mother, Jacqueline S. Stroehmann; father, Gene E. Weigle and stepmother, Kathryn Penfield of Williamsport; two sisters, Ashley Greninger of Williamsport and Michelle Weigle Martinez of Pueblo, CO; maternal grandmother, Diane Stanbro of Denver, CO; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who are like family to her. Each of these individuals played a significant role in Cecile's life, providing her with love, support, and care.
A memorial service to honor Cecile will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30th, at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine St., Williamsport. The family will receive friends following the service. Internment will be held privately.
