Carol K. (Shaffer) Taggart, 90, of Williamsport, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Leighton Place.
She was the wife of the late Ray Taggart, who passed away on March 6, 1996.
Born on May 23, 1935, Carol was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Helen J. (Cathcart) Shaffer.
She graduated from Williamsport High School in the Class of 1953.
Carol belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 42 years and was a member of Heshbon United Methodist Church.
She also volunteered for many years at the Williamsport Hospital and Red Cross Blood Drives.
Mrs. Taggart is survived by her son, Scott Allan (Jill) Taggart of Williamsport; grandchildren, Amie Blaszczyk (Scott) of Dallas, Texas, Jessica Molinaro (Erik) of Winchester, Massachusetts, and Ian Taggart (Julia) of New Hampshire; great grandchildren, Elliott, Katie, Roman and Simon; sister, Nancy Roupp; as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Emig and Anne Noon; and brother, Charles Shaffer.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
