Carl F. Orso, III

Carl F. Orso, III, 64, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at home.

Born September 13, 1961, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Carl F. Orso, Jr. and Rosemary E. Steiner-Fay.

 Carl was a 1979 graduate of Choctaw High School in Oklahoma and spent his career as a dedicated truck driver, a profession that reflected his dependable nature and strong work ethic.

Carl had a special affection for animals. He was known for caring about them deeply and treating them with kindness and respect. He often would say that he preferred the company of his animals to that of people and the love that they gave back to him was evident when they would not leave his side after he passed.

Above all else, Carl was a great family man who loved his family deeply. His family was the center of his world, and he found his greatest happiness in the time he spent with them. He was a loving presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and his support was constant and unwavering. 

He made sure that he was always there for his granddaughters’ sports games, and took great pride in cheering them on and being present for the moments that mattered most to them.

Carl is survived by two children, Minister Joshua F. Orso (Summer), and Heather M. Orso; five grandchildren, Ayla G. Orso, Meredith L. Orso, Kira M. Barnhill, Frances M. Orso, and Luca A. Brennan; as well as a grandson on the way; his sister, Rebecca Orso Herr; his favorite niece, Coral Rose Orso; his longtime companion, Patty Brennan; a brother-in-law, Bill Miller; step-brother, William Black; his many fur babies, Max, Moka, Milo, Minx, and Piper; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; as well as his friends and family in the NA Fellowship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Leslie Orso Dandrew, Miriam T. Miller, and Mae A. Wanzer; and two step-sisters, Sharmane Harris and Roberta Black

A Celebration of Life will be held in the future at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carl’s name to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
