Bernadine S. Bachman, 89, of Williamsport passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Grant W. Bachman on March 19, 2014. They were married on September 17, 1960 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Born October 26, 1935 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Michael Thomas and Louise Frances (Kaiser) Shebest.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Bernadine was employed with Mallalieu-Golder Insurance Agency for several years. After staying home to raise her four children, she returned to work for the Williamsport Area School District for over three decades.
She was an active member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish for many years. Bernadine loved gardening and reading, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family.
Bernadine is survived by her four children, Susan M. Rodgers (Eric) of Mohnton, PA, Michael J. Bachman (Cathy) of South Williamsport, John C. Bachman (Adrienne Briggs) of Sellersville, and Mary E. Aiello (Jeff) of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren, Zachary (Andrea), Tyler, and Brianne Rodgers, Isabella, Sydney and Grant Bachman, Quinn Bachman, Maggie Zettl (Edward), Logan, Abby and Malley Aiello; a brother, Gerald Shebest (Margaret) of Milford, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Shebest, Leonard Shebest, Gloria Plymette, Richard Shebest, and Charlotte Trayer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Friday, February 21, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:30 am, Friday, February 21, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.
