Benjamin Isbell Obituary

Benjamin G. Isbell, 75, of Cogan Station, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, finally quitting his longtime oxygen habit and finding peace.

Born May 16, 1950 in Williamsport, he the son of the late Allen C. and Ellen C. (Moore) Isbell. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1968 and earned an associate’s degree from WACC in 1971. Ben worked for UPS as a truck driver for over 14 years and retired from Jean Lumber Company in Trout Run.

Ben was a faithful member of Newberry Church of Christ, where he lovingly served as a former elder and Sunday school teacher. His faith and dedication to his church family were central to his life.

A true enthusiast of the open road, Ben loved Harleys and all things motorcycles. He was proud to be recognized in Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges and carried that spirit of achievement with him throughout his life. Beyond motorcycles, he also had a lifelong passion for trains, especially H.D.M.T.H. model trains, which brought him countless hours of joy and creativity.

Known for his gift of gab, Ben never met a stranger. His warm personality and easy conversations left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He will be remembered for his faith, his passions, and his ability to make friends wherever he went.

Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Billie Jo (Patrick) Isbell; his children, Benjamin G. Isbell, II and Brandi M. Shay; four grandchildren, Mitchell, Brooks, Emma and Sally; an adopted daughter, Cherokee Phillips.
