Barry Miller, Jr. Obituary

Barry “Butch” Miller, Jr., 60, of South Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 16, 2025 at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Jeannette A. (Valceda) Miller.

Born April 13, 1964, in Williamsport, he is a son of Paulette (Baker) Murray, (James) of Colorado and the late Barry C. Miller, Sr.

Butch attended South Williamsport High School and graduated while station at Ft. Benning. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and earned the title of Army Ranger.

Butch held many titles throughout his life. He was the former owner of Precision Construction Company and was also a Manager at Lowes. He was a volunteer EMT, firefighter, and dive team member. He was employed as a constable and also as a health codes and zoning officer. Most recently, he was employed in maintenance for K.S. Williamsport Hospitality and co-owned Southside Ink - Tattoos and Piercings with his wife.

Butch had a passion for life. He was the President of the Road Knights MC, finding joy and freedom on the open road, riding his cherished Harley Davidson. His love for motorcycling was matched by his love for the outdoors; whether camping under the stars, feeling the sand between his toes at the beach, or fishing with his son, he was always ready for a spontaneous adventure.

Above all, Butch loved his family and spending time with them. He coached his daughter’s softball teams and walked his son to school every day and helped him with his homework.

In addition to his wife and mother, Butch is survived by three children, Allyson Davenport, Abbi Miller, and Bodi Miller; as well as four step-children, Savanna and Morgan Wilhelm, and Al and Alora Valceda; two grandchildren, Jackson Davenport and Caleb Weaver; three sisters, Stephanie Tempesco, Melissa McGuire, and Rebekah Miller; his mother-in-law, Sonya Kelley (the late Stephen) as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Butch’s life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, January 23, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Military honors will be accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Thursday, at Sanders.
