April Rose

April Rose, 72, of Williamsport passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport.

Born April 12, 1953 in Scranton she was a daughter of the late Hans “John” Welz and Ethel Welz Kinne.  

April was a graduate of Narrowsburg High School and later pursued her CDL. For many years, she was a familiar and friendly face as a barista at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Newberry, where she shared her warm smile and kindness with countless customers. April found joy in life’s simple pleasures; loving dogs, crocheting, cooking, and baking for those she cared about. Above all else, her greatest joy and proudest role was being an Oma, a title she cherished deeply and lived out with endless love, patience, and devotion.

Surviving is her son, Frederick Rose (Stephanie Fischer) of Williamsport; a daughter-in-law, Danielle Rose of Michigan; six grandchildren; and her siblings, Betty Oppelt, Carl Bonitz (Bette), Eleanor Myers (Fred), Rita Welz, and Mulle Welz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Rose.

A memorial service will be held privately at the convivence of the family.
