Allen R. Mertz

Allen R. Mertz, 59, of Williamsport died peacefully at home on August 13, 2024.

Born September 12, 1964, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Sandra (Leiphart) Mertz.

He was proud to have worked for Hawbaker as a truck driver and he was also a member of the Jersey Shore VFW Post 5859. Allen’s favorite thing to do was tinkering with cars and four-wheelers and he was known by those who loved him as a “Mr. Fix-It.”

Surviving are three sons, Dakota Mertz and his mother, Lisa, Allen Mertz, and Anthony Mertz; two grandchildren; four siblings, Raymond Mertz, Jr., Thomas Mertz, Linda Bauman and Ann Mertz (John Payne); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his faithful and loving dog, Oreo.

A graveside service to honor Allen’s life will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 22nd at Resurrection Cemetery.
