William F. Jacobs, Sr.

William F. Jacobs, Sr., of 1900 Ravine Road, formerly of Duboistown, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, at The Williamsport Home.

He was born on December 9, 1920, in Williamsport, the son of the late Frank E. Jacobs and Alta B. (Long) Jacobs.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Duboistown VFW Post 7863. For many years he was employed by Trimtex Corp. and retired from Lucas Trucking, Linden. He was a member of the Duboistown United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine E. (Bubb) Jacobs, on October 8, 2012. They were married in Rural Valley, PA, on October 21, 1939, and shared 72 years of marriage.

Surviving are his four sons, William F. Jr. (Carol) of Montpelier, VA, Robert E. (Nancy) of Duboistown, Curtis C. (Penny) of Dowell, MD, Richard W. (Patricia) of Williamsport, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Duboistown United Methodist Church, 133 Summer Street, Williamsport, PA 17702.
