Stephen Lane Obituary

Stephen "Steve" Roy Lane, 75, of South Williamsport passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 8, 1944, to the late William S. and Bettie (Ritter) Lane. On July 21, 1963, he married Bonnie (Bartholomew) Lane. The two were blessed with a marital union of 56 years.

Steve retired from Flow Serve, formerly Anchor Darling Valve, after 35 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked the last 10 years for his son, Rocky at Comfort Systems.

Steve was an avid Phillies and Penn State fan. He was a tremendous supporter of his children's and later grandchildren's sporting endeavors. He loved fishing especially on the Chesapeake Bay, MD, with his sons, grandsons and extended family.

He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors; it was the camaraderie that was especially important. He loved spending time sitting on his patio conversing with family and friends.
Steve was a third degree Mason of the John F. Laedlein F. & A.M. Lodge 707 and member of the Zafar Grotto.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Lori Weir and her husband, Daniel, of Selinsgrove, Stephen "Nick" Lane, and his wife, Denise, of Great Mills, MD, Rocky Lane, of South Williamsport, and his paramour, Laurie Nace, of Hughesville, and Teresa Harvey and her husband, Herb of Holland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Zachary Weir, of Riverside, Danielle Weir, of Selinsgrove; Nicholas Lane, of Great Mills, MD; Adrianne, Rebecca and Savannah Harvey, of Holland, Ohio, Masen, Claire and Hayden Lane, of South Williamsport, and Laurieás five children. Steve is also survived by his three great-grandsons, Cameron, Roman and Elijah; a brother in law, Gene Groce, of Selinsgrove; a nephew; and a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Groce, in 2014.

At his request, there will be no viewing or funeral service; instead a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 1, at the Zafar Grotto Rafaz Club, South Williamsport, with the time to be announced at a later date.
