Shirley M. Younkin, 81, of Linden, went to rest waiting on her Saviors second coming on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Geisinger Medical Center. Surviving is her loving husband of 66 years, Raymond E. Younkin.
Born July 8, 1936, in Linden, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Mabel (Watts) Marshall.
Shirley worked as a waitress at Henry's Mountain View and the Harvest Moon Dairy Bar for many years. She enjoyed watching sporting events on television, especially NASCAR, doing crossword puzzles and was an excellent cook. She was a great mother who loved her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Stanley E. (Barbara) Younkin, of Williamsport, Kenneth E. (Karen) Younkin, of Cogan Station and Carl L. Younkin (Diane Manning), of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, Richard, Amy, Michelle, and Michael; two great-grandchildren, Britney and Branden; two sisters, Audrey Harding and Bessie Ertel, both of Williamsport; and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Younkin, of Mill Hall.
Shirley was preceded in death by three sisters, Geraldine Kosinski, Evelyn Carothers and Betty Gamble.
A funeral service to honor Shirley's life will be held privately with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
