Ruth E. (Liddic) Staib

Ruth E. Staib, 79 of Williamsport, went home to her Lord and Savior, Friday, October 18, 2019 at UPMC Williamsport surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Staib Sr. in 2009.

Born May 20, 1940 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Clarence and Katherine (Nabal) Liddic.

Ruth was a 1959 graduate of Williamsport High School. She worked in the medical field all of her life. She was a strong woman with a large heart. Ruth had the gift of hospitality and anyone that came into her home became her family. That large adopted family who even though they were not related by blood, she was known to them as “Ma”  and she loved each and every one of them, especially her granddaughter and great-grandson. She was a teacher to all, teaching every day to be kind, to love, and to laugh.

Surviving are a daughter Robyn Thomas (Jeffrey) of Williamsport;  a granddaughter Katherine Wenner (Paul Dean Sr.), a great-grandson, Paul Dean Wenner, Jr., and sisters, Joan Chandlee of Montoursville and Judy Peasley of Williamsport.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Liddic and sister, Frances White.

A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, October 26 at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Sanders Mortuary.
