Roy L. “Lee” DeRemer, 67, of Williamsport died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Surviving is his loving wife Deborah L. “Debbie” (Vanderhoof) DeRemer, who he would have celebrated 33 years with on July 2, 2019.
Born December 25, 1951, in Williamsport he was a son of the late Edgar A. and Tressa A. (Douglass) DeRemer.
Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He earned a PET certificate in electrical construction and was employed by Williamsport Wire Rope.
He was a life member of the American Legion Post #1, Williamsport and Howard W. Kahler VFW Post #844.
Roy enjoyed model trains, collecting M&M dispensers, and taking his boat to Rose Valley lake fishing. He loved motorcycles as much as he loved his family and could be found riding in charity events with his wife, including the Children's Miracle Network Ride. Roy was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and will always be remembered for the love he showed to many.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his siblings, Edgar A. DeRemer (Diane), of Winfield, Fay A. Klapp (Bill), of Milton, June C. Wright (Ron), of Williamsport; his step children, Gary Kessinger (Jen) and Joey Kessinger (Jen); two step-grandchildren; his nieces, Melanie Huggins (Keith) of Williamsport, Kasey Coats (John), of Fl., and Tori Ford (Sheffield), of NC; and his beloved dog Bandit.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved dogs
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
