Ronald Miller Obituary

Ronald E. Miller, 85, of Linden, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Williamsport Home. Surviving is his loving wife of 67 years, Letitia R. (Newcomer) Miller.

Born November 6, 1934 in Bedford, he was a son of the late Robert and Sara (Shaffer) Miller.

Ron worked as a milkman, first for Mosteller’s Dairy, then Valley Farms, and retired as the owner and operator of Miller’s Dairy. During retirement he remained active cooking at Cohick’s Trading Post and Henry’s Bar-B-Q. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ron enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling in the leagues at Montour and Harvest Moon Lanes, and watching Penn State football. Ron was also a member of the Laural Lodge Hunting Club. He was the type of man that could always make you laugh with his sarcastic charm. Ron loved his family and supported his grandchildren in any sports or activities that they were involved in.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children; Cathy Snyder (Daniel) of Linden, Dale Miller (Teresa) of Cogan Station, Penny Pfeiffer (Roy) of Linden and Robin Nicholson (Michael) of Manassas, Virginia; 12 grandchildren, Shawn, Jamie, Drew, Stephanie, Cody, Curt, Melissa, Gregory, Sarah, Elyse, Damian, Kylie; 24 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Allison, Kayliegh, David, Madison, Aubrianna, Sophia, Elijah, Aija, Makayla, Devin, Emmalee, Kadence, Kaylee, Kirra, Hunter, Autumn, Justyn, Kevin, Brennan, Peyton, Alivia, AJ, Kayla; two great-great grandchildren, Cayson and Alayla; a brother, Archie Miller (Cathy) of Watsontown; a sister Linda Cromley (Robert) of Las Vegas, Nevada; an uncle, Gene Shaffer; who was like a brother to him, several nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nikki Lynn; two sisters Dixie Smith and Carol Davis and two brothers, Roger and Vaughn, Jr.  Schomburg.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ronald will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 9 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Sanders. Burial will be held privately at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to Calvary Baptist Church, 315 Thompson St, Jersey Shore, PA 17740.
