Romeo Fagnano, 93, of Williamsport passed peacefully Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Roseview Center. Surviving is his loving wife Rose (Cendoma) Fagnano with who he would have celebrated 69 years of marriage with on October 21, 2019.
Born November 8, 1925 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Luigi and Ermenia (DiRocco) Fagnano.
Romeo was a graduate of Williamsport High School and attended Williamsport Technical Institute. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. After returning home Romeo worked at the Williamsport Auto Wreckers ‘Junk yard’ for over 50 years with his brother Balante. He is a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and was a member of the former Mater Dolorosa.
He enjoyed dinner and dancing at the former Antlers Club with his wife and always favored a cup of coffee with his buddies. Romeo enjoyed watching football; he could be found cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State but especially loved watching his grandsons play their football games.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Romey C. Fagnano (Cheryl), of Williamsport, Vincent R. Fagnano (Krista), of Williamsport, Stephen F. Fagnano (Robyn), of Montoursville, Sylvia Fagnano, of Montoursville, and Philip A. Fagnano (Patti), of Williamsport; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great great granddaughter due in February and his beloved dogs Jo Jo and Yeardley.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Balante Fagnano, Frank Fagnano, Marguerite Kish, Louise Collins, Rose Rizzo, Donald Fagnano, Charlie Fagnano and Angelo DiPaolo.
A time of visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Montoursville Cemetery.
