     Richard “Dick” H. Taylor, 87, of Elimsport passed away on July 7, 2019 at home very peacefully.

     He was born January 16, 1932, in Williamsport and was the son of the late Howard and Ruth (Hughes) Taylor, and step-mother Thelma Taylor.

     He was married December 24, 1950 to the former Eleanor (McCormick) Taylor celebrating 68 years of a joyous marriage.

     Dick graduated in 1949 from the Williamsport High School. While in high school he joined the 28th Div. of the National Guard on June of 1950, the 28th Div. was activated when the Korean War started. After training at Atterbury, Indiana, Dick’s company was sent to Germany. He was honorably discharged, July 1952.

     After being discharged from the Army, Dick enrolled at WACC, now known as Pennsylvania College of Technology to learn carpentry and masonry. During this time he was Scoutmaster of Troop #40 at Spring Garden Grange, Allenwood, PA. This troop was later moved to the Elimsport United Methodist Church. There were several fellows who made Eagle Scout during this period. He was chosen to be a leader in Archery at the World Jamboree at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

     He was hired as a foreman by Lundy Construction, Co. He held this job for many years. He later became part owner and V. President at Ericson Construction, Inc., Montoursville until his retirement.

     Dick was a member of the Elimsport U.M.C. and a Trustee for many years. He was also a member of the Christian Crusaders Class. He enjoyed woodworking, motorcycle riding, computers, and traveling to many countries which included Germany, Austria, Italy, Panama Canal, Canada, Australia, New-Zealand, Figi, and Hawaii.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Douglas H. Taylor (Shannon), of Oxford, Michigan and Pamela K. Miller(Danny), of Jersey Shore; a brother, David H. Taylor(Romaine), of Tampa Florida.

     Along with his parents he was predeceased by a son Richard W. Taylor.

     He is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Cynthia and Ruth Taylor. He has six grandchildren, Jennifer Springman (Eric), of Allenwood, Jason Miller (Gini), of Poughquag, N.Y., Andrew Taylor (Melissa), of Collegeville, Wendy Bradbury (Tim), of East Norriton, Lucas Taylor (Ashley), of Philadelphia, and Jill Kampmeyer (Mitch), of Allison Park; and twelve great-grandchildren.

     Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Elimsport United Methodist Church, 16145 S. Hwy 44, Allenwood, PA 17810. A Memorial service to honor the life of Richard will be held 3 p.m. A time of fellowship and meal will be held afterwards.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to the Elimsport United Methodist Church or the Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o Susquehanna Home Care  & Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
