Matilda L. Ross, 91, of Beauty Ave. Williamsport passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Leighton Place, Williamsport.

Born September 2, 1925 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Hazel Neidig Merolli. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Ross on May 21, 2009.

Matilda worked in the cafeteria at Lycoming Valley Middle School. She was a member of the NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employee Association), and she enjoyed shopping, sewing, camping, canning, cooking and baking, but her family was her greatest passion.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan A. Ross of Muncy; a son, Gary R. Ross of Williamsport; grandchildren, Angela Lepley, Jessica McDermott, Erik and Seth Balliet; four great grandchildren, Emilie, Anthony Jr., Greyson and Gaige; and a sister, Dorothy Janaskie of Northumberland.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 24 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 West 4th St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian VanFossen, officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.
