Margaret B. Altemose

Margaret B. Altemose, 88, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Williamsport Home. Surviving is her loving husband of 67 years, Arthur L. Altemose Jr.

Born September 10, 1930, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late William K. Blair and Margaret K. (Christie) Blair.

Margaret was a 1948 graduate of Williamsport High School where she was part of the band and played the clarinet. She retired from Northern Central Bank after more than 20 years of service at various branches and working in several positions. A member of St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, Margaret was always willing to serve on any church committee. She was also a member of Top of the Hill Club which paired well with her love for traveling. Margaret enjoyed knitting and crocheting and often donated her quilts, afghans, hats and mittens to greater causes. Margaret could often be found participating in activities with the Newberry and South Williamsport Senior Citizen groups.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Donna M. Daddona, of Delaware County; a daughter-in-law Cheryl L. Altemose, of Rockville, Md.; two grandchildren, Jaclyn Daddona (Bo Motlagh), of Philadelphia, and Nicholas Daddona (Natalie), of Delaware County.

Margaret was preceded in death by two sons, Russell L. Altemose, and Daniel Altemose; and a brother, Alexander Blair.
A funeral service to honor the life of Margaret will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 10 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Lenore Hosier officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Sanders.
