Loretta E. Ulmer, 75, of Williamsport, passed away surrounded by family, Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Wayne P. Ulmer Sr. on Nov. 21, 2009.
Born May 29, 1943, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late William M. and Nellie M. (Foughnan) Greenawalt.
Loretta attended Williamsport High School and her greatest role was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed flowers, planting trees and was a talented baker, known for her raisin-filled creations. She had a contagious laugh and a zest for living her best life.
Surviving are four children, Wayne P. Ulmer Jr., of Apple Valley, Calif., Charles W. Ulmer and Colin D. Ulmer, both of Williamsport; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a special great- granddaughter, Olivia Ulmer; a sister, Ann Weikel of Williamsport; a brother, Charles (Claire) Greenawalt, of Williamsport; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah J. Ulmer; a brother, William Greenawalt and a sister Peggy Weikel.
A memorial mass to honor the life of Loretta will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 West Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Loretta's name to a charity of one's choice.
