Joseph Michael Lumbis, Jr.
May 20, 1952 ~ August 2, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years OldJoseph Michael Lumbis Jr., 65, passed away peacefully at the Gatehouse surrounded by his family on August 2, 2017, following a four year battle with cancer. He was born in Williamsport on May 20, 1952, the son of the late Joseph M, Lumbis and Jane Marie Moyer Lumbis.
He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 1970 and the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1972.
Joe was employed by Lycoming College for over thirty years. In addition to his âbest job everã as the equipment manager for the Warriors athletic department,
Joe enjoyed antiquing and had an extensive collection of Aladdin oil lamps. He was also a Civil War buff.
Surviving are his mother, Jane, of Duboistown; his sister, Dolores (Mark) Conrad, of Cogan House; and his brother, Anthony (Bibianna) Lumbis, of Watertown, N.Y.
"Uncle Joe" will also be sadly missed by his nephews and nieces: Lucas Conrad, of Duboistown; Matthew (Megan) Conrad and children Kallie, Sara and Ben, of Montoursville; Michael (Marci) Lumbis and children Emily, Elizabeth and Michael, of Watertown, N.Y.; Christina (Dave) OáNeil and children Anna, Kate and David, of Watertown, N.Y.; and Laura (Tom) Austin and children Hunter and Rachel, of Blythewood, S.C.
Family and friends will be received between 9-10:30 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, on Monday, August 7, 2017. A graveside service will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
As per Joe's wishes "to have a party" - the family would like to extend an invitation to friends and family to join them at a luncheon to celebrate Joe's life immediately following the graveside services. It will be held at the Duboistown United Methodist Church Social Hall, 133 Summer St., Duboistown.
