Joseph M. Bem, 45, of Williamsport died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at UPMC Susquehanna-Williamsport.
Born Sept. 22, 1971, in Reading, he was the son of Eugene and Marie (Focht) Bem.
Joseph was a 1989 graduate of Reading High School.
He was formerly employed by Reading Electric and most recently worked as electrican for Williamsport Wire Rope.
Joseph was an avid sports fan of the N.Y. Mets, Miami Dolphins, NASCAR, Little League Baseball, Reading Phillies and Williamsport Crosscutters. He enjoyed music, vacationing at the beach and classic cars.
He is survived by his wife of  20 years, Tracie (De Hotman) Bem; his children, Kahlie "Lina" De Hotman, Kurdt "Monkey" De Hotman, Kainen "Little Boy" Bem, Keighan "Snoopy" Bem; his father, Eugene Bem, of Reading; a sister, Jamie Heverling, of Reading; nephews, Jared and Taylor Heverling, Bryce Miller; a niece, Averi Miller; and sister-in-law, Kristen De Hotman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Bem, and grandparents Doris and Russell Focht, and Michael and Dorothy Bem.
A funeral service to honor the life of Joseph will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. There will be a viewing from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
