Jarvis C. Aderhold, 89, of Cogan Station, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, the former Celia M. Eck.

Born January 2, 1928, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Truman E. and Florence E. (Harman) Aderhold.

Jarvis served his country during World War II in the US Army and attended Trinity United Methodist Church with his family growing up.

Jarvis worked in the family business, Truman E. Aderhold Construction for 25 years and later retired as a foreman for J.B. Gibbons Construction after 25 years of service.  He was a member of American Legion Post 617, Moose Lodge and the Wheel Inn. Jarvis enjoyed hunting at Landis Camp, and being with his family, especially his grandsons, who he shared his sense of humor with. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Luke L. Aderhold (Maria Daniele) of Linden, two daughters, Cynthia A. Black, of Cogan Station and Tina M. (Duane) Daniels, of Montoursville, two grandsons, Brok M. Aderhold and Chase L. Aderhold both of Cogan Station, and a great granddaughter Gianna M. Aderhold, a sister Shirley Sechrist of Williamsport, two brothers Thomas E. (Doris) Aderhold of Moosic and Wayne T. (Bea) Aderhold of Hughesville, a sister-in-law Cleda Dangle of Williamsport, a brother-in-law Dorland Eck (Carlene) of Trout Run, many nieces and nephews, and beloved family dog Thor.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Chris Black, and eight siblings.

A funeral service to honor the life of Jarvis will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 19 at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, PA 17701. Burial will follow in Stoltz Cemetery, Cogan Station. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sanders.

 The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Jarvis’s name be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Greater PA, 2595 Interstate Drive Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Susquehanna Health Foundation  1001 Grampian Blvd. Williamsport, PA 17701 c/o The Gatehouse.
