James L. Shuta, 79, of Trout Run, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at Manor Care Health Services.
Born Aug. 17 1939 in Silver Lake Township, he was a son of the late Francis and Bertha Shuta.
James proudly served for six years in the United States Marine Corps. He was an auto mechanic and courier driver for Purolator until he retired.
James liked working on cars and socializing with family and friends and his dogs. He had a passion for artistry, both sketching and painting.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Darlene (Yoder) Shuta; children, Deb Shramet, of Colo., Jimmy Shuta, of N.Y., Ricky Shuta, of Fla., Jamie Shuta Jr., of Williamsport; two grandchildren; two siblings, Frank Shuta, of N.Y., and Irene Ayers, of N.Y.; nine nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
A life celebration for James will be held Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. at American Legion Post 1, 10 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Memorial Contributions in James’ name may be made to any local disabled veteran organization of one’s choice.
