Helen C. (Cipriani) Hans Scoppa

     Helen C. Hans Scoppa, 81, of Williamsport, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at The Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald E. Hans, and her second husband, Thomas J. Scoppa.

     Born Sept. 13, 1938, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Nicola and Marion (Staccone) Cipriani.

     Helen was a graduate of Williamsport High School. She worked as a secretary for Security Pacific Finance Co., and then later retired from Blast Intermediate Unit 17.

     Helen was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She enjoyed playing cards, casino trips, drawing, crosswords, gardening and watching crime shows.

     Surviving are a daughter, Holly H. Henry, of Cliffside Park, N.J.; a sister, Louise Portanova, of Williamsport; a brother, Anthony Cipriani (Joan), of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews including her beloved niece, Diane Flexer, of Williamsport.

     In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Cipriani Sr., Joe Cipriani Sr., and Nicholas Cipriani Jr., and two sisters, Elvira Portanova, and Florence Girio.

     A Mass of Christian Burial to honor the life of Helen will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 27, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with Rev. Brian F. VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
