Greta P. (Proctor) MacPhail

     Greta P. (Proctor) MacPhail, 87, of Williamsport died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Guilford R. “Gil” MacPhail on August 10, 2018.

     Born March 13, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late George and Maude (Smith) Proctor. 

     Greta was a graduate of Dorchester High School and had attended the Boston Secretarial Institute.  She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Williamsport. Greta was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and volunteering at church and the DPH Child Well Clinic.

     She is survived by three children, Thomas R. MacPhail of New Hampshire, Stephen D. MacPhail of Montgomery and Robin S. Webb of Virginia; four grandchildren, Austin and Lauren Webb, Andrew and Jessica MacPhail; and one great-granddaughter, Caelyn.

     In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Debra MacPhail.

     A memorial service to honor the life of Greta will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Sanders.
