Gertrude S. Cordero, 95, of Turbotville and formerly of Souderton, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport.

Born January 21, 1922 in Pipersville she was a daughter of the late Lizzy Smith.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 1 year C. Jacobs, her second husband of 46 years J. Merrill Souder on Dec. 27, 1993, and by her third husband of 19 years William Milton Cordero on March 18, 2014, and four siblings.

She had worked as seamstress for many years at Swagers. Gertrude was a member of the Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, Telford. She enjoyed volunteering her time, at the Ladies Auxiliary of Perseverance Volunteer Fire Co., Souderton and was a volunteer in the kitchen at the Generations of Indian Valley Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with family.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law JoAnne and Gary Fogelman of Turbotville, one grandson Benjamin Fogelman of Danville, four great grandchildren, and three siblings Linford Shoemaker, Ella May Shoemaker, and Harvey Shoemaker. 

A memorial service to honor Gertrude’s life will be held December 2, 11:00am at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, 171 Church Road, Telford.

Memorial contributions in Gertrude’s name may be given to the Generations of Indian Valley Senior Center, 259 North Second St., Souderton, PA 18964.
