Eugene A. Hennigan

Eugene A. Hennigan, 81, of Williamsport passed away at home with family by his side on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Surviving is his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy (Roy) Hennigan.
Born Dec. 22, 1936, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Bruce and Cecelia (Reed) Hennigan.
Eugene was a graduate of Williamsport High School Class of 1956 and retired from Lonza after more than 40 years of employment. He enjoyed golfing in his younger years and also working on cars. Eugene loved watching Westerns on TV and Hee-Haw. He was known for his "Geneisms", his many snacks and could recite all kinds of useless trivia that he learned from Uncle John’s Readers. 
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Bruce (Kim) Hennigan, of York, Gina Hennigan, of Williamsport and Melissa Hennigan, of York; three grandchildren, Connor (Meg) Hennigan, Aaron (Sarah) Hennigan and Kyle Hennigan; a great-grandson, Kaden Sherlock; four siblings; Helen F. Thompson, of Williamsport, Michael (Carol) Hennigan, of Cogan Station, John (Evelyn) Hennigan and Faith (William) Breen, all of Williamsport.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Ezra Hennigan and step mother, Frances Hennigan.
A viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday, July 9 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with a graveside service to honor the life of Eugene to follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
