Elliot Storms Obituary

Elliot William Storms, 11, of South Williamsport, a forever loved child of Marc C. and Dawn J. (Minnella) Storms soared into God's Kingdom with Eagle wings on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.

Born May 16, 2008, in Williamsport, Elliot was the younger brother of Lillian Renee "Lilly" and Charles Edward "Charlie" Storms. He was a fifth-grade honor roll student at Rommelt Elementary this year where he had an eagerness to learn, loved being surrounded by his friends and thoroughly enjoyed recess. Elliot loved playing Army and Star Wars with his best friend, Waylon, Fortnite with all of his friends and spending Friday nights watching MacGyver, Hawaii Five-O and Bluebloods with his family. He dreamed of living a life of service in the U.S. military.

Elliot may have been young in age but his personality was big in every other way. He was courageous taking everything he was dealt with head on, sometimes literally. He would be out playing and take a nail in the foot through his shoe to bee stings and fishing lures cast on his head. Elliot didn't dwell on his life's trials. He faced every step of his cancer journey with grace, listening to what the doctors had to say, sometimes correcting them, rarely crying, and challenging his parents during his recovery times because he just wanted to be every part of an explorer that an 11-year-old boy could be.

From jumping in pools swimming to hunting, fishing, hacking branches or climbing trees, he had his bags packed, with his survival gear, hatchet and first aid kits ready to go on the next adventure. He attended Camp Dost in the summer and loved the great outdoors and the splendor of what he could create and do in nature. Camping in the cabins at Worlds End State Park was his favorite destination. He was intrigued by trapping chipmunks, squirrel hunting with his slingshot, hiking the trails and climbing on top of the big rock. His personality flourished with his curiosity for discovery and his practical jokes, kept things simple; as he and his buddy Waylon took great delight in placing rubber snakes anywhere they could scare someone.

Elliot was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church and was baptized on Sept. 20, 2015. He attended Sunday school at Faith Wesleyan and learned all about what Heaven had to offer for him with great thanks to his teacher, Miss Heather, and Pastor Tim, who became like family. Elliot was involved in children's BSF and thrived as a child of God, having a strong belief and love for his Lord and Savior, becoming a true disciple by sharing his faith and inspiring others.

Surviving in addition to his parents and siblings are paternal grandmother, Nancy Storms, and maternal grandparents, Anthony and Marsha Minnella, all of South Williamsport; aunts and uncles, Michelle Gavitt (Joshua), Curtis Storms (Alison), Tony Minnella (Mandy), Christopher Minnella (Laura), and Douglas Storms; cousins, Dakota, Bailey, Morgan and Bryce Gavitt, Tyler and Ashley Storms, Aidan, Clayton and Levi Patts, Vallie, Mia, Mabel, Abigail, and Michael Minnella; the Edler Family, his best friend, Waylon, his beloved dogs, Clara, Fritz and Brutus, and a large circle of dear family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Storms.

Elliot's character and testament of faith touched the lives of many and he will be sincerely missed.

A celebration of life service to honor Elliot will be held 4 p.m Tuesday, June 25, at Community Baptist Church, 1853 Route 87, Montoursville, PA, with his pastor, Rev. Timothy K. Hartzell, officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship with Park Pizza, one of Elliot's favorites, following the service. Burial will be held privately in Picture Rocks Cemetery.
