Ellen L. Reed, 91, formerly of Nisbet, passed away February 20, 2018 at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born September 19, 1926 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mary (Sentman) Mowrey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Reed in 2002, and beloved daughter Patricia Mowrey in 1955.

Ellen loved to knit, crochet, and create crafts that she gave as gifts to family and friends. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and baseball on TV and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are two brothers Earl Mowrey, Sr. (Dolores) of Montoursville, and Lewis Mowrey (Louise) of Maryland, one sister Dorothy Wilton of Williamsport, four God children nieces and nephews Earl Mowrey, Jr. and David Mowrey both of Montoursville, Bruce Mowrey of Montgomery, and Patricia Jordan of Mifflinburg, two nephews Gary Wilton of Williamsport and Donald Wilton of Jersey Shore and a niece Pamela Mowrey of Maryland.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, services will be private.
