Christine M. Ross

Christine M. Ross, 60, a lifelong resident of Newberry, went home on June 14, 2019, with her loving family at her side, after a six-year battle with colon cancer.

Born Feb. 12, 1959, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Sophia (Paucke) Ross.

Chris was a graduate of WAHS Class of 1977 and graduated summa cum laude from Penn College with a degree in human services and psychology. She was employed by Hope for several years before opening her private childcare, where she was "Aunt Chris" to 42 children.

Chris was always involved in her children's school and sports activities and attended all games and events. She loved being out walking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren, the loves of her life.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and taught Sunday school at her former parish, Church of Ascension, for 15 years.

Chris was the very proud mother of Jennifer (Tom) Moore, and Nicholas (Raina) Rall, all of Phoenixville, Jeremy (Chelsea) Rall, of Jersey Shore, Christopher (Tara) Rall, of Muncy, and Dorian Wright, of Williamsport. She was the loving Gramma to Bennett, Gracelynn, Thalia, Ellie, Oliver and Cole; grandpups, Skye and Belle, and faithful fur babies, Mr. Biggs and Little Snoops. Chris was the middle child, the "princess," and is survived by her brothers, Steve, Mike (Linda), Frank, Tom (Nancy) Ross, all of Williamsport, and sisters, Mary "Betsy" McCoy, and Catherine Reissner (Bob), also of Williamsport; as well as three maternal aunts, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Chris is also survived by her loving companion of 10 years, Joseph Turner, of Philadelphia.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor the life of Chris will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian VanFossen, officiating. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will be held privately in Wildwood Cemetery.
