Charlene J. Grittner, 82, of Williamsport, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer E. Grittner in 1995.
Born Dec. 7, 1936 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Ira Stepp and Hazel (Heck) Stepp.
Charlene was a graduate of Williamsport High School class of 1957. She was a devoted member of the former Christ Lutheran Church in Montgomery. Charlene was fond of puzzles, crocheting, cards and games that kept her sharp. She enjoyed playing bingo and being on her iPad. Charlene especially enjoyed spending time taking care of her house and family.
Surviving are her two daughters, Beth George (David) and Denise Torrey (Michael); two grandsons, Zachary and Michael; a sister, Janice Britt; numerous nieces, nephews; and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Stepp, a sister-in-law, Hope (Torok) Stepp, and a brother-in-law, Douglas Britt.
A funeral service to honor the life of Charlene will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 2, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
