Antonio H. Cerquozzi, 89, of Williamsport passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Jean) Cerquozzi.
Born January 30, 1930 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Henry and Lucille “Lucy” (Esposito) Cerquozzi.
Antonio was a graduate of Williamsport High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post #617, South Williamsport, VFW Post #7863, Duboistown, and the Korean War Veterans. Antonio enjoyed hunting and watching movies, especially Overboard. He was proud of his time spent in the service and enjoyed sharing stories about the places around the world he had traveled.
Surviving is a daughter, Lori Gehr (Ted), of Cogan Station; five grandchildren, Anthony Cerquozzi Jr. (Shannon), Jesse Cole (Tia), Shilo Cole (Kelsey),Tanishia Cerquozzi and Kristen Cerquozzi ; six great-grandchildren; a brother, John Cerquozzi, of Williamsport; and sisters, Ester Salmon (Jim), of Poconos, Marie Cerquozzi, of FL, and Jackie Cerquozzi (Scott), of Williamsport.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Joseph and Antoino C. Cerquozzi; a granddaughter, Samantha Cole; and two brothers, Andrew and Henry Cerquozzi.
A funeral service to honor the life of Antonio will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Sanders.
