Anthony F. Rizzo, Sr., 85, of Williamsport passed away from a brief illness on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 surrounded by family.
Born November 18, 1933 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Richey) Rizzo.
Anthony was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School and was always proud to be from the Newberry section of town. He retired from Lonza Chemicals in 1996 after 42 years of service as an A operator. Anthony played pro-ball, enjoyed golfing, and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for 22 years. Anthony was known for his charismatic personality, always on the go lifestyle, and all around wonderful family man and friend.
Anthony will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Vandermark) Rizzo, his three precious children Gail Rizzo of Williamsport, Donna Chappell of Indiana, and Anthony Jr. of Williamsport, also nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his brother Frankie (Fran) of Strousburg .
In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his brother Robert Rizzo and a grandson William Winder.
A Mass of Christian burial to honor the life of Anthony will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 22 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W 4th St, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 21 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport.
