Nancy L. (Yorke) Shipton

Nancy L. Shipton, 85, of Williamsport passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport.

Born August 21, 1938 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Winton and Lucy (Hinkelman) Yorke.

Nancy worked at Savoy Furniture for over 20 years.  Her home was a testament to her love for order, each room tidy and clean. Nancy took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, losing herself in her favorite television shows or listening to country music.  Renowned for her delicious pies and cakes, she brought smiles to many with her love for cooking and baking. She held a special place in her heart for dogs. Above all, Nancy was the epitome of loving. She left a mark on the hearts of many, embodying kindness and care in every action.

Surviving are her children, Cynthia MacInnis (William) of Montoursville, Richard Shipton, Jr. of Muncy, Joy Rowe (Raymond) of Ulster, and Jamie Funt (Andrew) of Montoursville; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ann Bachman, Betty Conway, all of Williamsport, Elaine Alexander of Elimsport, and Winton Yorke Jr. (Connie) of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard D. Shipton, Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Jade Ariana Coloń and her brother, Bruce Yorke.
