Hazel Barger Obituary

Hazel M. Barger, 104, of Williamsport died peacefully Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Nippenose Valley Village.

Born April 28, 1919 in Jersey Shore she was a daughter of the late Roy W. Vance and Nora P. (Hill) Vance.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1953. Hazel loved working in her flower gardens outside and caring for her cactuses and African violets inside. You could find her watching the cooking and baking shows. She was a great baker and we all loved her pies.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Cominski (Vincent) of Moyock, NC and Sandra Walton of Richmond, VA; her daughters-in-law, Phyllis Barger and Dee Barger both of South Williamsport; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren; two sisters Evelyn Holtz and Martha Jaques; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend and neighbor for over 50 years, Fern Emig.

In addition to her husband, Vincent, she was also preceded in death by her sons, James Barger and Robert Barger.
