Dorothy Campbell Obituary

Dorothy E. “Dottie” Campbell, 89, of Middleburg, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Sr. Living. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Kenneth H. Campbell in 1988.

Born September 27, 1934 in Salona, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Ida (Askins) Rhine. Dottie graduated from Mill Hall High School and had many different careers in her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and bowling. Dottie also sewed, making her own curtains and hand crafting her home decorations. She was of the Baptist faith and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Surviving are a special niece Margaret Shires of Middleburg; two grandchildren Jimmy Shady and Cindy Flook (Mark); five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family, and her sweet dog, honey.

Along with her parents and husband, Dottie was also preceded in death by her step-son, Wilbur Shady; five sisters and six brothers.

A funeral service to honor the life of Dottie will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. A viewing will be held prior from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in Dottie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
