Tony J. Mureddu, 90, of Williamsport, died peacefully, Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at the Williamsport Home.
Born May 8, 1927, in Girardville, he was a son of John and Mary (Monices) Muredda.
He was a graduate of Girardville High School and graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute in 1950. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Tony worked for Avco-Lycoming for 37 years. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1 Williamsport and VFW Post No. 7683 Duboistown. Tony enjoyed painting ceramic Santas, bowling, gardening and was an avid "yard saler" and Penn State fan.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Anne S. (Souleret) Mureddu whom he married April 28, 1950; three children, A. Scott Mureddu (Teri), of Scio, N.Y., Lynne A. Mureddu, of Williamsport, and Susan R. Hooker, of Montoursville; five grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, and Andrew Mureddu and Kyle and David Hooker; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph A. Muredda, of Girardville; and a sister, Rita Simononis, of Hatboro.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Farrell; a brother, Lewis Muredda; and a grandson, William (Billy) Hooker.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Exchange Community Cemetery at Saint James Episcopal Church in Exchange, Pa. with military honors.
