Steven J. Sutherlan, 62, of Cogan Station, died Nov. 30, 2017, at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born July 4, 1955, in Hackensack, N.J., he was the son of James R. and Patricia L. Sutherlan.

Steve had several vocational interests that he enjoyed, including rehabilitating abused horses, his music and working with challenged youth. Most recently, Steve worked with Community Services Group in Williamsport for 12 years. His caring, dedication, calm and concerned nature enabled Steve to be very successful working with challenging students in schools, and children in their homes with mental health and Autism diagnoses. 

Steve volunteered to work in summer camps and between-school-year programs, frequently using his musical ability to sooth, entertain, and bring joy to the children. While continuing to work with children, Steve also dedicated himself to entertaining the elderly by visiting many facilities within the state, caring for them by playing and singing requested generational music with his guitar and ukulele. 

Steve will be sadly missed by all those he touched. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
