Stephen W. Dowling

Stephen W. Dowling, 68, of Jersey Shore, died Sunday Feb. 4, 2018, at his residence.
Born Dec. 14, 1949, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Alma J. Thomas.
Stephen was a graduate of Williamsport High School. He retired form Rock-Tenn after more than 40 years of service.
Stephen was a fan of the New York Yankees. He enjoyed woodworking and playing Yahtzee with his beloved wife.
Surviving is his wife Shirley Y. Stamm Dowling, they would have celebrated 46 years of marriage on February 18; five children, Deborah Porter, Wanda (Raymond) Alexander, Kerry (Norman) Bliler, all of Jersey Shore, Tina (Fred) Rogers, of Williamsport and James (Missy) Dowling, of Montoursville; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Carl J. Breen.
A memorial service to honor the life of Stephen will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stephen’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
