Robert A. Carothers, 87, formerly of Williamsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Hospice of the Panhandle, Kearneysville, W Va.
Born Oct. 31, 1929, in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late LeRoy I. and Catherine E. Wetzel Carothers.
Robert was a 1949 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was employed by Mid Penn Magazine and Roadway Express.
Robert was a veteran of U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and belonged to the Scott Key Campers of Frederick, Md. Robert was also field director of Family Campers and RV.
Surviving is his daughter, Michelle Caruso, of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Fisher; and two brothers, Richard and Edward Carothers.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia (Beaghan) Carothers; and two daughters, Robin Hetrick and Tammy Sottile.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 29, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. The family will receive friend from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
