Robert Lee “Bob” Shuman of  Nisbet Heights, Williamsport RD4, husband of Ida Jo (Shangraw) Shuman died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

Born March 3, 1929 in Duboistown, he was the son of the late Harry and Frances (Snyder) Shuman.

Bob and Ida Jo were married on September 15, 1951 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana where Bob was serving in the United States Army.

His last place of employment was Pullman Power in Williamsport where he retired after 25 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and William Shuman and a sister Mrs. Marion Shuman Gore.

Surviving are his wife Ida Jo, a daughter Heather Meikenhous and spouse Murray of Kansas City, MO, two sons Paul Shuman and spouse Maria of Travelers Rest, SC, and Jeffrey Shuman and spouse Dorothea of Black Mountain, NC, five grandchildren, a brother Jack Shuman and spouse Patsy of York, PA and his best friend Moo.

As per Bob’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral services. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N. Franklin St # 1, Wilkes Barre, PA 18701.
