Richard L. “Dick” Mason, 65, of Williamsport passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Williamsport Hospital.

Born January 1, 1951 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late William Mason and Margaret (Nevius) Lechler. Richard was the loving companion of Monica Haefner for the past 16 years.

A graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Dick also attended classes at Williamsport Area Community College and St. Francis University. Dick worked in the unemployment offices for the State of PA Dept. of Labor and Industry for 25 years. He later retired from Brodart as a project manager after 14 years of service. A total sports fanatic Dick never lost his school pride as he constantly rooted for the Millionaire sports teams. He was also an avid Steelers, Flyers and Dodger fan.

Surviving in addition to Monica is a daughter, Laurie (David) Myers of Kennett Square, a son Todd (Lisa) Mason of Lynchburg, VA; 5 grandchildren, David, Tyler, Caroline, Brianna, and Jamie; a brother, Douglas M. (Karen) Lechler of South Williamsport and sister in law Candi Reese of Williamsport.

In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by a sister Janice Lechler.  

A funeral service to honor the life of Richard will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. A viewing will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday, December 4 at Sanders. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery.
