Richard W. Bennett, 65, of Montandon, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at his home.

Born Oct. 3, 1952, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Ernest and Lillian M. (Deeter) Bennett Sr.

Richard was a graduate of Williamsport High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and received a bronze star during the Vietnam War. He retired from L3 Technologies, Williamsport, after 43 years of service. 

He was a member of the VFW Post 844 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football fan.

Surviving are his six children, Jacqueline Bennett Hawthorn (Joe), of Texas, Richie Bennett (Christine), of Montandon, Heather Bennett (Wayne Irvin), of Texas, Randy Bennett (Andrea), of Milton, Jason Allen (Miranda), of Cogan Station, and Kim Allen (Todd), of Williamsport; five stepchildren, John Perry (Lisa), of Florida, Renee Woodley (Rob), of Williamsport, David Roberts (Teresa), of Texas, Ryan Kinser, of Montandon, and Craig Kinser (Kim), of Linden; 20 grandchildren, Ashley Spencer, Kassi Floyd, Lexie Bennett, Will Irvin, Alex Bennett, Aubrey  Bennett, Logan Allen, Kierstin Nagy, Kailee Nagy, Dom Nagy, Kaden Nagy, Samantha Perry, Victoria Perry, Felicia Mankey, Dalas Fisher, Zerenitee Roberts, Raylee Roberts, Zoey Roberts, Crystal Conner, and William Cousins; and a brother, Randy Bennett (Gloria), of Linden.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Bennett Jr.; and two sisters, Jeannie Wingrove and Mary Kolasa.

A funeral service to honor the life of Richard will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 30, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at Sanders Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St., Ste. 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
