Orvilla B. Thomas, 81, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Loyalsock Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born, February 10, 1935, in Buttonwood, she is a daughter of the late Maynard and Helen (Knipe) Schmouder.

Orvilla retired from GTE Sylvania after 25 years of service. She enjoyed attending Bible study and playing bingo. Orvilla's greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Frank "Rusty" Thomas and spouse Melanie of Williamsport and a daughter, Debra L. Fox and spouse Donald of South Williamsport; four grandchildren, Pam Duvall, Brenda Oberheim and spouse Mark, Jason Webb, Tripp Thomas, and Taite Thomas; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Orvilla was preceded in death by four sisters, Clara Edler, Freda Phelps, Mary Gailbraith, and Lillian Schmelzle.

A funeral service to honor the life of Orvilla will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at Sanders. Burial will follow in Friedens Cemetery, Liberty.
