Mary L. Bowersox, 82, of Linden, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert P. “Bob” Bowersox, on January 2, 2015.

Born April 3, 1935, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Oscar J. and Mary L. (Evans) Bartlett.

Mary was a 1953 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, received her nursing certificate from Wyoming Valley Hospital School of Nursing, and was a 1976 graduate of Bloomsburg University with her bachelor of science in nursing. She was formerly employed at Williamsport Hospital where she worked in the Operating Room, was an Operating Room Nursing instructor, a paramedic instructor, and retired from Jersey Shore Hospital.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Williamsport. Mary enjoyed reading, however, her biggest joy was spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Diane L. Havrilla (Edward R.), of Williamsport and Jennifer L. White (Brian D.), of Hammondsport, three grandsons, Daniel J. Havrilla, Gregory J. Ditomasso, and Joseph I. Havrilla, and a sister-in-law, Alice M. Bartlett, of Dallas.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Bartlett.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mary will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, December 16 at First United Methodist Church, 604 Market Street, Williamsport with the Rev. Richard D. Waters officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, December 15 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport and from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Williamsport.

Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Mary’s name be made to First UMC, 604 Market Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
