Margaret R. Knepley, of Williamsport, died Saturday, September 9 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur Dale and Viola (Housman) Ranck., and raised by her step-mother         . She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Knepley on February 24, 1989.

Peg was a 1944 graduate of Williamsport High School and worked many years as a teller at Northern Central Bank.  She was a member of the former Newberry United Methodist Church and a current member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church. Peg enjoyed volunteering at church, Rose View Center, and the food bank. She loved watching the NY Mets.

Surviving a brother-in-law Thomas Knepley of Williamsport, and two sister-in-laws Anna Knepley and Barbara Paulhamus both of Linden, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to honor Peg’s life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, with her pastor the Rev. Jay E. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary.
