Karon Rae Gerace, 64, of Williamsport, died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 25, 2017, at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born July 23, 1953, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of McClellan R. and Esther V. Loudenslager Denius.
She was a 1971 graduate of South Williamsport High School. Karon had worked for Hope Enterprises and also for AML Corporation. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and was an avid sports enthusiast, cheering for Penn State football, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Yankees.
Surviving are her husband, Craig A. Gerace whom she married May 19, 1984; three children, Julia Anna Willits (Jed), of Spring, Texas, Brett Michael Gerace (Nichole), of Hollidaysburg and Shane Anthony Gerace, of Altoona; a granddaughter, Eviana Daye Willits; five sisters, Shirley Fullmer (Donald) and Sharon Rupert (Steve), both of South Williamsport, Barbara Bowman (Charles), of Cape Carteret, N.C., Cindy Bowman (James), of Cumming, Ga., and Pamela Kanaskie (Ronald), of Riverside; two sister-in-laws, Sharon Sechler (Rusty) and Renee Wheeland (Steve), both of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Denius.
A funeral service to honor Karon's life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 324 S. Howard St., South Williamsport, followed by burial in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church.
