John "Joe" E. Wertman

John E. “Joe” Wertman, Jr., 66, of Trout Run, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his home.
Born August 30, 1950 in Williamsport, he was son of John and Adeline (Temple) Wertman.
Joe was a Marine Corp. Veteran of the Vietnam War. He received an associate’s degree in accounting from Williamsport Area Community College, and was a certified tax planner. He was a “Jack of all trades”, working various jobs as an electrician, welder, and as a tax preparer. He enjoyed shooting pool and playing golf. He was a collector of banks, was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and loved going to his cabin at Gander Mountain Hunting Club.
Surviving are three children Shelby L. Martinez (Brian) of Williamsport, Kelly A. Schloegel (John) of Wellsboro and Joseph J. Wertman of Toronto, Canada, seven grandchildren Brandon, Jakob, Brianna, Shelby, Rachel, Sarah, Natalie, three siblings Viola Ernest of Warrensville, Jesse Wertman (Bonnie) of Williamsport, and Ronald Wertman (Jackie) of Trout Run and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, December 5, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, followed by a service to honor Joe’s life at 7:30.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Joe’s name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
