Herbert F. Betts Sr., 60, of Williamsport died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his residence with his family by his side.
Born March 10, 1957, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Ellen Mae Betts Ryan.
Herbert was employed by Shop Vac for 30 years, and Jersey Shore Steel for four years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and being in the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Ann (Pettit) Betts; his children, Herbert (Susan) Betts Jr. of Sullivan County, Amanda (Dana) Houseknecht of Hughesville, Thomas Betts of Williamsport, and Christina (Matthew) Robidoux of Williamsport; seven grandchildren, Abby, Tyler, Nathan, Grace, Ellen, Maddison and Kairi.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Arthur, James Frederick, Frederick James, Lynn Douglass and Laura Mae Betts Ryan.
A funeral service to honor the life of Herbert will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Herbert’s name may be made to any local volunteer fire company.
